On February 4th, World Cancer Day, Mike will be setting out on a 200-kilometer trek from Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario, pulling a heavy snowmobile sled in an effort to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer.
Mike is no stranger to endurance events, having completed a 900-kilometer trek across Ontario in 2013, pulling a 125-pound sled with the word "CANCER" on it. He took over 10 steps for each of the 75,500 Canadians that would die from cancer that year, dedicating the walk to his mother who was battling a rare early-stage cancer at the time. Today, she is a pillar of strength working behind the scenes on this event.
The "Double Up" event, as it's called, will be a challenging journey, but Mike is determined to make a difference and inspire hope in those affected by cancer. He believes that if we work together, we can truly move mountains, and he's inviting others to join him on this journey by following his progress through a GPS tracker link on helpmeburycancer.com.
Northbound Gear is honored to be a part of this event and to support Mike in his efforts to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. Be sure to follow the event on helpmeburycancer.com and show your support for Mike and the fight against childhood cancer.
Together, we can make a difference!
